Event Description

Invitation to Participate
in a Community Discussion
and Be Part of the President Obama’s
Forum on Jobs

Thursday, December 3, President Obama hosted a discussion at the White House to explore every possible avenue for job crea¬tion and get ideas from CEOs, small business owners, econo¬mists, financial experts, labor union representatives, nonprofit groups and regular Americans who have felt the impact of this economic crisis firsthand.

But you don’t need to be at the event in DC to partici¬pate. The Office of Public Engagement of the White House is asking for communities to participate in discussion on how to create jobs and to be part of the President’s forum on jobs.
River Valley Human Resource Association, Claremont Savings Bank, and River Valley Community College will be sponsoring a community job forum on December 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Claremont Savings Bank Commu¬nity Room. This discussion, among community leaders will be a source of insights and ideas that will inform the President’s approach to job creation. The results and feedback of our discussions will be sent to the White House for review
where it will be compiled and combined with other forums across the country into a report that will be sent to the Oval Of¬fice for review.
On September 29th, the College hosted one of Governor Lynch’s regional business roundtable discussions, which many of you may have attended. Although this event is not affiliated with the Governor’s office, one of the goals in putting this discussion to-gether is to share the feedback from this forum with the Gover-nor’s office. This is one way to help the Governor continue to be aware of the concerns and ideas from CEOs, small business owners, economists, financial experts, labor union representa-tives, nonprofit groups, HR Professionals and regular Americans in the Upper Valley region (including Claremont) of New Hamp¬shire. If you are able to attend please RSVP by replying to this message or contact either Jim Britton at RVCC jbrit¬ton@ccsnh.edu
or Bev Widger of RVHRA and Claremont Savings Bank bwidger@claremontsavings.com.
