NHBR Network/NHBR's online b-to-b network

Does anyone have one "great" networking tip they would like to share? I can say, when you network; wonder what you can do for the other person; instead of wondering what they can do for you. Genuinely listen to what they have to say....make eye contact; never look left or right ~ only look up or down (when you look left or right, your mental focus shifts; things can easily distract you, when you only look up or down; your focus is still on the person you're talking to; there is nothing to distract you from really listening) You will be amazed at how much more interested they are in what you are doing when it is your turn to talk.

Follow up immediately. A quick phonecall or email the day after meeting someone new is necessary in making sure you stay top of mind.
Yes, follow up is extremely important! Believe it or not, I am one to still follow up via snail mail. The art of hand written notes has been lost in this day and age, but I feel when a hand written note is received - it is remembered! It shows you have taken the time to respond! The follow up may be your final opportunity to make an impact and a positive connection!
