Let's Congratulate New Hampshire's Financial Leaders

We can all agree that the past few years haven’t exactly made life easy for financial executives. Where should we cut costs? What can we afford to spend? How should we adjust our growth or survival strategy? When economic conditions reach unprecedentedly challenging levels, financial leaders must combine education, experience, consultation, and instincts to keep their organizations in positions of prosperity, health, or even survival. Many, in our business community, have done just that in…See More

Slowed Jobs Growth - No Cause for Panic

Over the last week or so the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that job growth slowed significantly in March. In fact, the rate of growth was slowed by a factor of about 50% with March showing approximately 120,000 new jobs added versus an average of 240,000 jobs per month in January and February. Before we begin fortifying the bunker and stock-piling drinking water we have plenty of reasons to sit back and relax a bit as all is far from lost. It’s important to remember that despite the slowed…See More

Start Making an Impression - Sell a little Passion!!

Call the last couple years what you will. Hard times, down economy, or all of the above. Whatever your terminology for what has certainly been a challenging climate, many of us will agree that these conditions tend to drive us to become a little introverted and locked down in survival mode. Whether we are searching for a job, trying to keep your current job, or attempting to land a new client, the minimalist society that a haggard economy can breed doesn't lend itself to provoking boldness or…See More

Continued Learning Sells

Over the past 10 years I've had the pleasure of working with New Hampshire employers through highly prosperous and unprecedentedly difficult economic times. Throughout this duration a few constants have remained in tact:1. Death2. Taxes3. Employers are excited about employees and job seekers with a demonstrated thirst for knowledge. As a job seeker attempting to obtain employment or an employee attempting to retain employment the above points one and two are a bit out of your control. The third,…See More

Optimism on the Rise in New Hampshire (Hiring too??)

Don't look now but there appears to be growing optimism on the streets of the Granite State. The dust continues to settle from 2009 and businesses are beginning to talk less about survival and more about innovation, expansion, and growth. On a nationwide level, approximately 300,000 jobs will be added in the month of March (1/3 of them contract or temporary jobs) with that pace expected to sustain or grow in the months to come. On a local level, trends and opinions appear to be pointing to more…See More
