I know you feel dirty Allen, but the important question is: Do you feel Schweddy? Ah well, enjoy your day and don't let anyone slip you a bad ice cube or you might start making bad "B" movies that will tarnish your reputation.

I feel dirty just ready this post! And..."Someone must have slipped Alec Baldwin a bad ice cube..."  ?? - I've never heard that one in my life, and I'll be using it for the rest of it. :)

Ben & Jerry's Descent Into Madness

If you have something left on your bucket list that you'd like to clear up before 5 p.m., feel free to go forth and conquer for surely this is the end of the world.....Armageddon.....the end of days as prophesized in Matthew's Gospel, Chapter 24, Verse 36.Last week, I had the great fortune to spit my cornflakes a near record 25 feet (the notoriously tough East German judge was sufficiently moved enough to give me a 9) upon reading what the marketing geniuses at Ben & Jerry's had foisted…See More

Putting the Antisocial in the Social

It might be a minor victory, but I take great comfort in the fact that I have never made a trip to Farmville. I've never engaged in a Mafia War, thought to take the next step toward discovering what Hollywood star I most resemble or felt compelled to let everyone in the universe know where I'm traveling at any given moment. I'm antisocial that way, even in the social realm known as Facebook.Facebook is a wonderful communication tool for a number of reasons - establishing a new customer base,…See More

Surviving the Office Cauldron

I have one thing to say and one thing to say only - you're going to have to do better than boiling me. Cut my brake line, lace my mid afternoon Diet Coke with strychnine, push me in front of a speeding car or force me to watch a selectman's meeting on community access, but do better than this. Death will not come easy for this proud warrior.Anyone who has every occupied a cubicle, shared space with another carbon life form or been part of the American workforce has encountered the same dilemma…See More

The Art of the Protest

I usually dismiss the sentiment "They don't make them like they used to" as the ramblings of someone whose time has passed them by. However, walking in front of the New Hampshire State House on a near daily basis, I can truly say without reservation that some truths have become self evident - they just don't make protests like they used to.Sure, there's fire in the belly and passion in the voice, but where's the theatricality? In an age when you can attend a protest on virtually any street…See More

Another good one. Seriously though, they should be more worried about where its all going to go when it melts than how the soft fluffy stuff is going to kill us all as it falls.

Yeah Heidi, I think that they invent new terms to create a higher level of hysteria. Enjoy your time on the slopes!!

I hear ya, Steve. Us "natives" find the media amusing. This is evidently a storm "blitz," a new term for me. I'm just psyched it's ski snow :)

News Flash - In New Hampshire It Snows

Call out the Coast Guard. Scour the store shelves for the last 12 pack of bottled water, Velveeta cheese and a loaf of bread. It's the blizzard to end all blizzards...the end of days as recorded in the Old Testament...a time for all good men to huddle their families together in the basement and kiss the world goodbye.Never mind the fact that this is the 120th "blizzard to end all blizzards" this winter alone and that more than three snowflakes in this state constitutes an emergency that must be…See More

Brother, Can You Spare Some Legislation??

The final strains of "Auld Lang Syne" had barely even faded before the first head scratching, near supernatural piece of inspired lunacy had reached Granite State media outlets. If you're a shut-in, agoraphobe or are simply sleeping off the libations imbibed to celebrate the birth of a new decade, you might have missed the news that the thriving metropolis of Plaistow is considering an ordinance to tackle the all consuming issue of panhandling. Plaistow???? Plaistow???Lest you fall prey to the…See More

Thanks, Steve. Yes, the family is keeping me on my toes, but it's lots of fun. I suspect the same is true for you! I miss our email days, too, but I'm glad I'll be able to keep up with you on this network - it's great!
