Welcome Ron. You must be super busy, given your line of work. A lot of my practice involves litigation and real property, some of it distressed real estate. Do you do work for corporations, individuals or a bit of both?

Hi William,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome here! Advertising is definitely picking up a lot this year (and we noticed a nice rebound late in '09 as well.) I'm a classified advertising rep personally, with a focus on the recruitment end of things, so I'm tied pretty closely with the economy and have noticed things looking up. It seems like we're starting to rebound (slowly, but it's trending the right way at least!)

In terms of non-print media, we leverage our sites (NH.com, Nashuatelegraph.com, Cabinet.com, and our classified sites - getjobsnh.com and getautos.com) to build the brand, in addition to developing some Twitter and Facebook offerings that I'm hoping to unveil soon! Our recruitment advertisers also have the ability to add Monster.com to their packages, thus spreading the coverage of their ads.

We're also becoming a very events-heavy company and building the brand within the community in that way too. There's definitely something to be said for attending a Telegraph event and meeting the people whose names you only know as a byline or a "Call ___ to advertise," and we've noticed a tangible increase from those events and their marketing efforts. Our various events - most were less than 5 years old - drew over 6000 people in '09! It seems like we're about as diversified in non-print media as you can be as a newspaper and things seems to be turning around for 2010. There are good things coming this year!

My company, Hoyle, Tanner & Assoc., is a civil engineering and planning company that primarily works for public entities on water systems, waste water systems, roads, bridges, and airports. My area is the latter, primarily in the design of airfield pavements, terminal improvements, and master and environmental planning. I am also a member of the Board of the NH Aviation Historical Society which operates the Aviation Museum of NH at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

Thank you! I guess this is sort of like a "business facebook"? Cool....
Things are picking up in the ad business, believe it or not - this past week has been busy....
What kind of law do you practice?
