Drag me kicking and screaming – “Social Media”

The rules we have used previously that pertain to Network Economy have changed. Note: I did not say "are changing". By the time you read this, more and more of your customers and their customers will be interacting with people's daily life exploiting more and more opportunities.

Ya right, old dogs and new tricks

Face it, we are dealing with major new tools that fundamentally alter the laws of economics or of doing business.
Lets be honest, some of us are not early adopters. My group has been approached by several clients to help them understand the role that Social media plays in their overall marketing and sales strategy. Fortunately there are several excellent resources that can be engaged to provide validity and support in this area. That's where the "drag me kicking and screaming" comes in. Isn't it ironic that we spend an inordinate amount of time mentoring clients on the value of admitting what they don't know and developing comprehensive strategies to take advantage of areas they can get tremendous positive results from? Now it's us!

Underestimating the influence of the internet and new explosive technologies is frankly dangerous for business and organizations in general.

We are now working with experts to develop new training for everything from managing sales reps to customer communication. Don't for a minuet think that everything we know and love about excellent Customer Service and touch points go out the window. On the contrary, People still do and always will by from people. Executed correctly, we just have major enhancements in speed and quality of what can be shared.

Get on board people, there are new ways of providing value and service to your customers. New ways to interact and communicate effectively. First step is to have the courage to admit that you don't know what you don't know. Then find a social media expert that is focused on Business application and check their references. You can be trained to do this yourself very cost effectively or hire a group to do it for you. Either way, go kicking and screaming and get on with it.

I couldn't agree more. I have stepped up my social media marketing for 2010 and am having a very good response so far!
