NH Bars and Restaurant Reviews November 2011 News Letter

N H Bars and Restaurant Reviews

November 2011 News Letter

Greetings,

At the onset we want to thank all the new visitors that have
come to our new site from New Hampshire,
the United States and from around the world. As time allows, we are working on some new features
and ideas to set us apart from the norm of the sites that are not based here in
NH. As a reminder we don’t focus on the large National bar and restaurant
chains, only the local NH operations.

NH is a great state and I am proud to live here. Because I
am in the restaurant sales industry and keep up with the trends and reports, I
can report that NH is ahead of many of the states in the country with
restaurants and bars surviving in this economy, even with cost conscious
consumers. Restaurant and bars have learned by offering great food, drinks and
service at a good value and by lowering prices will keep the tables full. Many
will be marketing value meals and promotional events around the upcoming
holidays which keep’s their brand visible to the consumer.

Recently I checked the stats on closed restaurants and
restaurant locations for sale in NH and although the figures constantly change,
we have about 20 locations in the state for sale. A number of bars and
restaurants are retro fitting and updating their facilities to keep them fresh
and exciting for consumer. One local example is Sky Lounge in Nashua
is now called JunkYard Night Club with a whole new look and Acqua Bistro in Peterborough
is now called Waterhouse with a new menu. A few months ago Michal Thimothy in Nashua
changed his concept and the new name is MT Local Kitchen and Wine Bar and I
have mixed reviews about the change. The bottom line is many are scaling down
to a casual theme, offering daily specials and bringing in fresh local
ingredients and produce when in season.

While at the 2011 National Restaurant Association trade show
in Chicago, L learned healthier beverages is what the consumer is asking for
and that change is being put in place at a rapid speed. At the same time bar
tenders have become very creative with new fruits, teas, liquors and mixes.
Want to titillate your tonsils? Try Brew Masters Rik’s Firkin Friday brew at
the Flying Goose Brew Pub and Grill. Yikes….

With Thanksgiving just a few weeks away and the ski resorts
opening you need to check out the site “Thanksgiving Day in North Conway” with
events, parties and restaurants who will be offering Thanksgiving deals, but If
you headed north book early! Ever since I was a kid, Harts Turkey Farm in
Meredith has been a hot spot on Thanksgiving. The Wolfeboro Inn always offers a
feast and further south, The Bedford Village Inn in Bedford
NH is an awesome place to enjoy the
Thanksgiving day.

If you are planning to dine out in NH, please support our
local NH restaurants but what ever you decide to do, do it with family or
friends and take a moment to reflect on how lucky we are to live in this
country. In addition I would ask that you remember our NH neighbors who might
not have the means to enjoy the holiday. NH Bars and Restaurant Reviews sent a
donation to the NH Food Bank and I would request that you do the same
and help a family enjoy a meal. Here is the linkto make it easy for you.

Happy Thanksgiving and when you visit a NH Restaurant,
please tell them NH Bars and Restaurant reviews sent you.
